Barcode Reader Installation
Learn how to install and configure barcode readers in Bravo, including supported models and troubleshooting tips for proper setup and scanning functionality.
Barcode Reader / Scanner Installation Instructions
Please use the following instructions to calibrate your barcode scanner for the correct scan length and to add an automatic carriage return (enter keystroke) to each scan. The examples in this guide reference the Symbol LS2208 barcode reader product reference guide.
Barcode Length
Bravo uses the Interleaved 2 of 5 length format for barcodes. To program your scanner to read these, please print out the pages in your owner's manual with the corresponding barcodes to use to program your scanner.
Example: For the Symbol LS2208, these are from page 197 in the downloadable PDF manual.
Scan the barcode above “*Enable Interleaved 2 of 5” on page 198 and then scan the last one on page 199 that says “I 2 of 5 – Any Length”.
Carriage Return
You’ll also need to simulate a carriage return after the scan so that employees do not need to press 'enter' after every barcode they scan. To do this, you will need to look for the appropriate page(s) in your maunfacturer's user manual to scan and enable this setting.
Example: For the Symbol LS2208, these are pages 224 and 225. First scan the barcode on page 224 that says “Scan Options” then scan “<DATA> <SUFFIX>” on page 225 and finally scan “Enter” also on page 225.

Next, try scanning one of your Bravo labels. It should now scan the barcode and transmit the data correctly.
