Biometric login for employees
This article guides Bravo Pawn Systems users through setting up and using biometric login for employees, enhancing security and streamlining access.
FingerWith Bravo version 2.5.3 we now have the ability to log in and give Manager Approval using your fingerprint!
Prerequisite
To see if you can get access this new feature please contact Customer Support at (702) 701-9115 option 3.
Install the Fingerprint Plugin.
Process
When you have the feature on you will know by bravo's lock screen having a Blue outline, indicating that this feature is on like so:
Bravo will have the same blue outline for Manager Approvals as well! So you can now give your approval with just a fingerprint entry and click Approve!
If you have multiple stores, each store will need to be activated for this feature in order to use your Biometric login at all stores.
Setup:
Once you have the feature turned on you will need to add your fingerprints to your profile. To do this, you will need the help of another associate (they will need access to System Configuration as well as Edit Employees).
- Have the associate login to Bravo
- Head over to System Configuration
- Go to your profile on the left hand side
- Click on Biometrics at the top of the screen
When the associate clicks on the Biometrics button, you will need to login to approve applying your fingerprint to your account.
You will now be taken to the Employee Biometrics section. You may add up to 3 fingers to use when logging in.
Now you can take over and perform the steps for your profile. First you will click on the icon on the top right of the pop up to start a new fingerprint.
To enroll your fingerprint you must follow the guidelines:
- Scan the same finger 4 times.
- Make sure your fingers are clean!
- Clean the fingerprint scanner with a piece of cellophane tape.
- Ensure the core of your fingerprint is part of the image each time. (Most curvy part of your fingerprint)
- Try to get a slightly different view of your finger in each capture (center, left a bit, right a bit, up a bit)
Each time you add a different view of your finger remember to press the right arrow next to the box on the right to save it! Keep entering the same finger with different views for the remaining 3 sections.
When you have all 4 sections filled out, Bravo will tell you if your fingerprints were accepted and you can use that finger by displaying "Success!" if it passed:
If you tried different fingers during the same Enrollment or the scanner didn't read enough of the entire finger, it will present you with a "Enrollment failed. Try again." message, and all your added fingerprints will be wiped so you can start again:
Moving on to Successfully adding your fingerprint, you must now choose which finger it was that you added.
Once you choose the finger you are now able to click Accept on the bottom right corner
You now have the opportunity to add another finger or press OK o save.
Now go back to the login screen of the system, without clicking on anything you now are able to put your finger on the reader and Bravo will automatically sign you in!
Tech tip: If you tried scanning your finger in an awkward position or the wrong finger all together, Bravo will turn the blue outline red and on the very bottom right say "Fingerprint not found"
