Bravo Tips - Calculate Total Interest and Fees Due

Learn how to calculate total interest and fees due on multiple loans in Bravo using the 'Calculate Amount Due' tool and Excel to remove duplicates.

Calculating Total Interest and Fees Due

If you find that you need to know the total outstanding Interest and Fees Due for a group of loans, follow the process outlined below:

Start by selecting Loans/Buys from the Bravo Dashboard:

Next pull the loans that you want to calculate for.  This can be any grouping of loans or ad hoc report that you like.  In the example below, we have selected the Loans to Expire.

Highlight all of the loans in the list.  You can easily highlight by clicking on one loan, then selecting Ctrl A to highlight the entire list.

Right click and select Calculate Amount Due:

The amount due for each loan is now calculated on the right hand side of the list.

Note that there may be multiple lines for loans with multiple items. The amount due is per loan and duplicates for each line item on the loan ticket. If you have tickets with multiple loans, you will need to continue to follow the steps listed to remove the duplicate line items.
The Calculate Amount Due column added is based on the Renewal amount. To see what the loan would be for redemption you can use the Active Loans for Mock Redeem and Renew

If your store only allows one item per loan, select the Drop arrow next to Layouts:

Next select Show Summary Panel. The total of Interest and Fees due will now appear on the bottom right of the screen.

Please note that the summary panel is ONLY accurate if your store does not take in multiple items per loan.  If you have loan tickets with more than one item, you will need to follow the rest of this process to eliminate the duplicate rows.

To remove Duplicate Rows:

Select Print List from the panel on the right.

From the Report Preview screen, select the export option and export the report as a CSV file.

You will see a CSV Export Options Dialog box. Click the 3 dots (aka ellipsis) and the system will bring up the Windows Explorer to save it where you want it and name the file. Uncheck the Open file after exporting if you don't want it to.

Save your file:

This will open the file in Excel. Delete every row above the row labeled Ticket Number.

From Excel, Click the Data tab, and then select Remove Duplicates.

From the Remove Duplicates dialog box, check the boxes next to My data has headers, and then click Unselect All.  Check the box next to Ticket Number.  Click OK.

Excel will comb through the ticket number field and remove all duplicated rows.  The program will then inform you how many duplicated rows were found. Click OK.

Highlight the Amount Due column.  The total will be displayed on the bottom right of the Excel screen.  You can also use the sum feature to total this column.

You will now have an accurate idea of the total interest and fees due for a group of loans.
