Buy to Inventory and Skip Unpriced Status

Learn how to buy items directly into inventory and bypass the unpriced status using the “Buy to Inventory” feature.

Last Updated:   2/24/2025

For stores that have been configured with a NO Buy Ticket Hold period, zero days for hold, the Estimator can be used to price items directly into inventory, skipping the UNPRICED Status entirely. The employee must have the proper permissions to do this. To enable this functionality, the following security bit must be enabled at the employee level:

Main Menu > Transactions > Point of Pawn > Price incoming Buy transactions

When this feature is enabled, additional pricing fields will appear in the Estimator during the Buy transaction, such as MSRP, Price, Max Discount Percentage, Tag Description, and metadata questions that typically only appear when pricing items through the Inventory screen. Similar to inventory pricing from the Inventory screen, these fields and the Location of the item will be required before the transaction can be completed.

Below a Screen of a store configured with a Hold Period for Buys:

Below, an example of  Store configured without a Hold Period for Buys and depending on the item, it may have more metadata questions to answer depending on the item type. You can see the additional information that will need to be gather during the purchase transaction.

Allow Locating Items During Transaction must be enabled to successfully skip UNPRICED status.

System Configuration > Configuration > POP CONFIG > Allow locating items during transaction

A the end of the transaction, each item purchased as part of the ticket will be assigned a unique inventory number. Additionally, inventory tags will be printed for these items.
