Buys in Bravo - How do they expire when there is a Hold Period

Learn how Bravo handles Buy expirations during hold periods and how store closures affect inventory status.

Last Updated: 2/25/2025

Buys expire when the store opens on or after the Buy's Pull Date. If the store never closes, Buys will never expire. However, if there's no Buy Hold Period, the Buy will immediately move to Unpriced or Inventory status based on the store's settings.

Example

This store has a buy that the Pull Date is 6/1/2022. The Disposition of this item is still BUY even though the date shown on the computer is 7/11/2022. This is because the store has not closed since this on or after the 6/1/2022 Pull Date.

To check when the store last opened, go to Void/View Transactions and look at the Business Date in the top left corner. For this store example below, the date shows 5/24/2022, indicating that all transactions since then have been reported on that date, and no purchases that would have expired after that date have expired yet.

So what the store needs to do in order to expire the Buys from earlier is to close the store and reopen.

Once the store is reopened Buys will be expired and and have the Unpriced status.

A manager may need to be contacted in order to close and reopen the store. This will depend on the store settings.

After going through the Closing and Opening Procedure for the store we can verify the Business Date has changed in Void/View Transactions to be 7/11/2022.

Now, when the item is searched it will show the Disposition as BUY EXPIRED, meaning it is successfully in Inventory with the status of Unpriced.

  • On the item, right click and choose View Item to be taken directly to the item as it currently is in Inventory

The Inventory View of the item.
