Calibrate the ScanShell 800NR
Learn how to calibrate or recalibrate your ScanShell 800NR.
Calibrating your ScanShell 800NR may be necessary if the scanner becomes unplugged or begins to leave black lines or fade to black when scanning an ID.
Follow these steps:
- First, go to the Devices and Printers. Click Start Button, and select Devices and Printers.
- Then, under devices, Right-Click on your ScanShell 800NR.
- From the sub-menu, find and select Scan Properties. A new window will open.
- Next, in the ScanShell 800NR Properties window, click on the Advanced tab.
- From here, locate the Calibrate button and click it. You will then be prompt with instructions to feed your calibration sheet through.
- If you do not have the Calibration sheet in the box that the device came with, you can print out a calibration sheet from here
If you are experiencing a recurring darkness on your ScanShell 800NR ID Scanner after the scanner has been idle, and you are using Windows 8 or 8.1 operating system, follow these steps:
- In Windows, navigate to the Control Panel.
- Go into the System and Security settings.
- Click on the Power Management or Power Options.
- Then, click on the Show Additional Plans drop-down.
- Select the High Performance plan and then click Change Plan Settings next to it.
- Click on Change Advanced Power Settings and scroll down until you find USB Settings.
- Click on the plus sign next to USB Settings and USB Selective Suspend Setting will appear.
- Click on the plus sign next to USB Selective Suspend Setting and two options will appear.
- Select Plugged In and a drop-down menu will appear. Change the Plugged In status from "Enabled" to "Disabled".
- This will prevent your USB devices from going into an IDLE Status.
