Edit Loan Fees GL (General Ledger)

This article provides guidance on configuring loan fee general ledger (GL) accounts in Bravo, allowing stores to assign specific GL accounts to individual loan fees at the store level.

Set individual GL for each loan fee at the store level. All stores could use the same GL for each fee or different fee by store.

How to get it:

Call your Bravo representative to get this setup.

Do not change the GL during the day:

GL changes should be made after store closing or before store opening. Large chain stores will need to schedule more time to have this applied to all stores before opening.

Security considerations:

Once this has been enabled, you will need to consider what employees will require access to set or change the GL. This is change access, therefore only a few key people should be granted access.

Security Bit location:

Main Menu -> System Configuration -> Stores -> Edit Loan Fees GL

Setup considerations:

Make sure all your General Ledger accounts are set up before attempting to set specific accounts at the store level. If you need instruction on accounting and general ledger setup, see below.

How To: Post To Accounting

Loan Fees GL:

System Configuration -> Select store -> Transaction Tab -> Loan Fees GL sub-tab

By default the fees will be listed with the existing ledgers. Click Edit to enter edit mode. Click on the pencil button on the right side of a Fee/Ledger line to change the GL to one of the available ledger accounts. Repeat these steps until all fees are set, then Save the changes. No need to edit or change any fees not being used in the store's regulatory sets.

When do I see changes?

The moment Loan Fees GL has been saved, the changes are in effect upon the first pawn type transaction. This is why it is best to make changes outside of business hours.

Post to Accounting:

When the Loan Fees GL is configured properly, Post to Accounting will post each regulatory fee to its designated General Ledger account. This can be seen in the individual day's General Ledger Export, in the Consolidated General Ledger export, or the General Ledger's Detail By Transaction.
