eReceipts

Quick guide to enabling and sending eReceipts through Bravo, allowing stores to provide digital receipts via SMS to customers.

Last Updated:  2/26/2025

Save on printing receipts; most customers discard them. Many are opting for electronic receipts, which are accessible online anytime. Simply scan the barcode from the eReceipt on the customer's phone. Ensure customers provide a current phone number to receive their receipt.

Contact your Bravo representative to start using eReceipts.

Instructions

  • The store must already be setup to send SMS messages to customers. eReceipts are sent via SMS.
  • Once eReceipts is configured for your store, you can start using the feature right away.
  • The default eReceipt text message will work for most stores.
  • If you'd like to modify the message or add a personal touch, you can do it in System Configuration.
  • From the Dashboard, select System Configuration -> Configuration Tab -> Customer Engagement -> eReceipt Message Template.
  • Check this article out for more information about the eReceipt Message Template.
  • Sending an eReceipt aims to reduce the number of printed receipts in your system configuration by one.
  • If you're already giving a printed receipt to the customer, you don't need to reduce the receipt count in system config. Sending an “eReceipt” will decrease the configured receipt count.

Using eReceipts

  • Instruct your staff to verify the customer's mobile number on the tender screen after clicking Save..

eReceipt dialog window

  • The eReceipt window will display the mobile number of the customer if there is already one on file.
  • It is best to confirm the Mobile Number.
  • If the customer has a new Mobile Number, you can update that number in the Mobile Number field.
  • Updating the Mobile Number here, will update the customer information.
  • Clicking eReceipt will send the receipt to the customer’s mobile phone.

The eReceipt window has four buttons to choose from. Here is a summary of what these buttons do.

  • eReceipt – Subtract one receipt from the number of receipts configured to print. Send an SMS with a web link to the online receipt.
  • Print & eReceipt - Print the number of receipts configured to print. Send an SMS with a web link to the online receipt.
  • Print – Print the number of receipts configured to print.
  • No Receipt – Subtract one receipt from the number of receipts configured to print.

Third Party

  • For transactions with a third-party customer, they should receive the eReceipt unless there's a shipping line item, in which case the original customer gets it.
  • The aim is to ensure the eReceipt goes to the person paying for the transaction.
  • If the third party is in-store, they are the payer. For shipping, it involves an out-of-state firearm shipment to an FFL.

Cash Customer

  • Although you can send an eReceipt to the “Cash Customer”, the phone number entered cannot be saved.
