Firearm Redemption Process without E4473
You will learn how to complete a firearm redemption in Bravo without using E4473, including manual documentation and compliance steps.
When redeeming a firearm loan, the Firearm Holds dialog will appear upon clicking Next to transition from the Transaction Screen to the Tender Screen:

If a customer profile contains an FFL, the loan will default to select [RELEASE ITEM(s)], and the customer's FFL number and expiration date will be automatically populated into the field with "ATF and related information". An option will also appear, as it does within the [View Customer] screen, which gives the option to verify the FFL number.
If the customer profile does not contain an FFL, you may enter any NICS and relevant information when releasing the firearm. If the NICS approval is still in progress, you may select Hold Items and complete the redemption payment process.
Question: Why does a customer's pawn history show a "HOLD REDEMPTION Ticket [...]"? What is the (hold) for?
When a firearm is redeemed and the [HOLD ITEM(s)] radio button is checked, the firearm should not be given to the customer until the hold has been approved from the NICS check.
The loan will have a “FIREARM IN PROCESS” disposition when it is pending NICS approval. To complete the redemption, you may select the firearm loan from the [Pending Transactions] list (if the customer is selected) or the receipt/pawn ticket can be scanned/entered into the Smart Search from the Dashboard. Select [Firearm Redemption] from the right panel to display the dialog to approve, hold, or deny the NICS background check. The [Firearm Redemption Special Handling] dialog will appear:

Approve
If the NICS background check has been approved, but the customer is not yet back in the store to pick up the firearm, you may select Approve and then Save Status. The loan disposition will change to FIREARM APPROVED, and the change will be shown later in the Disposition History on the right.
If the customer is in store to pick up the firearm, you should click Redemption Pickup to complete the redemption and create a redemption pickup line item as part of the transaction. This can be selected at the same time that the NICS approval is being entered.
Redemption Pickup may not be selected if the loan is in FIREARM IN PROCESS or FIREARM DENIED disposition.
The customer will have already paid prior, so this transaction will show a $0.00 outstanding amount; it simply marks the firearm as being delivered to the customer. Enter any NICS codes or other information for the gun book. The Redemption Pickup will mark the firearm REDEEMED in the gun book once the transaction is saved.
If, for some reason, you forget to do the redemption pickup and have already given the customer the firearm, then you may need to complete the pickup without the customer present to prevent issues with the gun book and loan disposition. On completing the hold redemption, the customer gets the firearm(s).
Deny
If the NICS background check has been denied, but the customer is not yet back in the store to pick up the firearm, you may select Deny and then Save Status. The loan disposition will change to FIREARM DENIED, and the change will be shown later in the Disposition History on the right. If the loan is in FIREARM IN PROCESS or FIREARM DENIED disposition, you may select Refund to refund the loan principal amount and any interest that was last paid by the customer.
Refund may not be selected if the loan is in FIREARM APPROVED disposition. After refunding the amount to the customer, the loan will return to ON LOAN disposition.
