Getting the Z11 Fortis credit card terminal on your network. Plugged in Ethernet is the fastest and most reliable method. As long as the terminal can retrieve an IP via DHCP and get on the internet, it will work. If you see the spinning globe with POS Online, your network setup is complete.

If you need WiFi you will have to type the password on a little on-screen keyboard. Once signed in to the WiFi, it should just work. Below are the steps to connect the terminal via WiFi.

  1. Tap on the date in the top left-hand corner.
  2. Tap on the WiFi symbol.
  3. Tap on your locations WiFi. IMPORTANT: ENSURE WIFI IS FOR BUSINESS USE ONLY. CUSTOMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE WIFI NETWORK YOUR CREDIT CARD PROCESSING EQUIPMENT IS ON.
  4. Type in password to WiFi. Keypad can be used if touchscreen is too small. IE J = 5 two times. After password is inputted, tap connect or press green key on keypad.

Terminal will now connect. If successful, terminal will say connected. Press red key two times to go back to home screen. If password was wrong or terminal fails to connect, terminal will say Connecting then timeout back to the home screen. If this happens, repeat from step one and ensure password is correct.
