Free-Form Entry for Jewelry

You will learn how to use the Free-Form Entry tab in Bravo’s Jewelry Estimator to describe unique pieces manually when standard fields don’t apply.

The Free-Form Entry feature allows you to create jewelry items in the Jewelry Estimator without having to go through the full diamond and color assessment process. After weighing the item and setting metal color and purity, you can simply enter a text description, tag description, and web title to create a jewelry item quickly.

Instructions

  • To enable Free-Form Entry go to System Configuration > Configuration tab
  • Select Edit
  • Check the Free-Form Entry for Jewelry checkbox.
  • With this option enabled, a new Free-Form Entry tab will appear on the right side of the Jewelry Estimator screen.

Using Free-Form Entry

  1. On the Jewelry Estimator screen, select the Free-Form Entry tab.
  2. Enter item weigh, metal purity, color and category. 
  3. Click the Auto-Generate Descriptions button on the right.
  4. Now the fields for Full Description, Tag Description, and Web Title will be populated with the info entered on step 2.
  5. You can alternatively add an image, brand and additional information.

Notes:

  • If free-form entry is enabled for an item, diamonds/stones you previously added will be removed and their amount subtracted from the total.
  • Items created via free-form entry will be treated as if they have no stones during the scrap refining process.
  • To disable free-form entry for an item, select the Diamond or Color assessment tabs and add a stone back onto the item. This will clear the fields on the Free-Form Entry tab.

Editing a Free-Form Entry Item

When editing an item previously created via free-form, you can edit the fields on this tab to keep the free-form entry or you can add diamonds/stones to take advantage of the Jewelry Estimator's full feature set.
