How to Add New or Uncommon Items Not Found in the Estimator

Learn how to add items not found in Bravo—new products, rare finds, unique pieces, or anything without a UPC—quickly and correctly.

Last Updated: June 2025

Most items in Bravo can be found using the Product Estimator, which pulls from a large shared catalog. But sometimes you’ll come across something Bravo doesn’t recognize—maybe it’s brand new to the market, niche, or one-of-a-kind.

In those cases, Bravo gives you three ways to enter the item manually:

This article explains when and how to use each one.

Add Item – New Model

Use this option when the item is common enough that you want it available for future use. Bravo adds it to the catalog so your team (and other stores) can find it next time.

To add a new model:

If no matches appear when searching for the item, press Enter to continue to the Find Manufacturer/Model screen. Head to the right-side menu and click Add Item – New Model.

Fill out the form:

  1. Enter the Manufacturer Name and select the Type
  2. Manufacturer/ Brand Logo- If this is a known manufacturer in Bravo, this will be pre-filled, otherwise, upload the logo to this box. Use the search buttons to locate the logo image on the web.
  3. Enter the Category of your item (e.g., Electronics, Tools, Instruments)
  4. Model - Enter the name or model number of the item that you are adding.
  5. Enter the Year Made (manufactured), the MSRP, the best price, UPC Number and the part number (if known).
  6. To locate the UPC number, use the magnifying glass to the right.
  7. Price Guide Research Buttons. These are here to assist you in finding the correct data for the model.
  8. Add Stock Images - You will need to add a stock image - these can be found on line.
  9. Image Research Buttons - If you need help finding an image, you can click these image search buttons.
  10. Save - Save your new entry.

Bravo will return you to the Add Item screen so you can complete the loan, buy, or consignment as usual

📌 This is the best choice for popular items that are new to Bravo but not unique or rare.

Add Item – One of a Kind

Use this option for unique or low-value items that don’t need to be added to Bravo’s catalog. This is a fast way to log the item without filling out a full model form.

To use One of a Kind:

Can’t find your item? After pressing Enter, you’ll land on the Find Manufacturer/Model screen.

  1. Select Add Item – One-of-a-Kind from the right-side menu to manually enter the item details.
  2. The item’s Category will default to “One of a Kind”
  3. Manually enter:
    • Item Location
    • A clear Full Description
    • A short Tag Description
  4. Use the Notes & Passwords box for internal info (e.g., missing charger, no case)—this won’t print on the ticket
  5. Choose the transaction type (Pawn, Buy, or Consign) and enter the amount
  6. Click Next to finalize the transaction

⚠️ Do not use One of a Kind for firearms—they will not be entered into your A&D book and won’t be tracked correctly.

Add Item – Bypass Estimator

Use this option when the item isn’t in Bravo’s catalog, but you want to record its actual manufacturer and model. Please Note this option will not save to Bravo's Catalog for future use.

This is ideal for things like antique firearms, or unbranded tools that don’t have a UPC.

To bypass the estimator:

If no matches are found, pressing Enter will take you to the Find Manufacturer/Model screen. Bravo will split your search into Manufacturer and Model fields. If either is new, it will highlight green with an “Add New” tag—this unlocks the Bypass Estimator option on the right side.

  1. Select Add Item – Bypass Estimator from the right-side menu
  2. Bravo will auto-fill the Manufacturer and Model into the Add Item screen
  3. Manually:
    • Choose the correct Category
    • Complete Assessment Questions (if required)
    • Assign a Location
  4. Select Pawn, Buy, or Consign and enter the offer
  5. Click Next to finalize the transaction

📌 This method does not save the item to Bravo’s catalog. It’s quick, but temporary.
