How to Combine or Delete Customer Profiles

In Bravo, you can combine duplicate customer profiles to keep your records clean and reporting accurate. If you need to remove a customer, Bravo does not offer a direct "Delete" function — instead, you merge the unwanted profile into an administrative customer account. This article walks you through marking duplicates, combining customers, and removing customers correctly.

How to Mark a Customer as a Duplicate

Before combining customer profiles, you can mark potential duplicates during a customer search.
Marking a customer as a duplicate does not merge the profiles — it simply flags them for review later.

Important:

  • Any user can mark a customer as a duplicate, regardless of security permissions.

  • Only users with the correct security settings can actually combine (merge) customer records.

To mark customers as duplicates:

  1. Perform a customer search from the Dashboard.

  2. Review the list of found customer profiles.

  3. If you see two customers that appear to be duplicates:

    • Highlight the first customer.

    • Check the box labeled Duplicate.

    • Highlight the second customer.

    • Check the Duplicate box again.

This flags both profiles and adds them to the Review Duplicates queue under the Customers section, ready for authorized users to combine later.

Important Rules for Combining Customers

Before combining customer profiles, make sure:

  • Customers must have matching PINs (Personal Identification Numbers).

    • You can edit PINs if needed before combining.

  • Web customers cannot be combined.

  • You must have the correct security permissions to combine customer records.

What Happens When You Combine Customers

  • Transaction histories merge into one profile.

  • ATF Gun Book records stay unchanged.

  • Only customer profiles can be combined — not vendor profiles.

Warning: This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

How to Combine Customers

Method 1: Using the Duplicate List

If the system already identifies duplicates:

  1. From the Dashboard, go to Customers > Review Duplicates.

  2. Hold Ctrl and click to select the two duplicate customer records.

  3. Use the radio buttons to choose the correct information for each section (address, phone, ID, etc.).

  4. Click Save, then click OK to confirm.

Method 2: Manual Combine (Customer Not Listed)

If the duplicate is not automatically listed:

  1. From the Dashboard, go to Customers > Review Duplicates.

  2. Click Combine Customers from the right-side menu.

  3. Search for and select the second customer manually.

  4. Follow steps 3–4 from Method 1:

    • Select correct information using the radio buttons.

    • Save and confirm.

Tip: While searching for customers, users can mark profiles as duplicates for review later.

How to Remove a Customer (Delete Process)

Bravo does not have a "Delete Customer" function.
Instead, use a workaround by combining the unwanted profile into an administrative account:

Step 1: Set Up a "Delete Customer" Profile

  • Create an administrative customer profile:

    • First Name: DELETE CUSTOMER

    • Address: Use your shop's address and phone number.

(This account will be the placeholder for removed customers.)

Step 2: Combine the Customer into the "Delete Customer" Profile

  1. From the Dashboard, go to Customers > Ad Hoc Reporting.

  2. Search for your DELETE CUSTOMER profile.

  3. Click OK to load the profile.

  4. In the search results, click Combine Customers from the right panel.

  5. Make sure DELETE CUSTOMER appears on the left side.

  6. Search for and select the customer you want to remove on the right side.

Step 3: Final Check Before Saving

  • Verify that:

    • All radio buttons on the left (DELETE CUSTOMER) are selected.

    • All radio buttons on the right (customer being removed) are blank.

  • Double-check the customer selection — this action cannot be undone.

  • Note: Gun Book records will not be modified.

  • Click Save and confirm when prompted.

This method effectively removes the customer by merging their profile into the administrative record, keeping your active customer list clean.
