How to Start a Pawn on MobilePawn

Learn how customers can start a pawn transaction directly through the MobilePawn app, including selecting items, uploading photos, and submitting for review

You and your customers may be familiar with the MobilePawn app.  If you need to cover the basics of the app, click here .

However, did you know that your customers can now reach out to you to start a loan or buy right from their phone?

This article will cover how the customer side of the application works.  It is a great resource if you need to help train your customers so that they can take advantage of this powerful tool.

If you only need to walk your customer through finding the order number on their phone, click here for instructions.

Once the customer logs in for the first time, they will see the home screen of the MobilePawn app.

From here they can click on the Fast Cash For Your Item button or in the bottom middle on the task bar that has the same image of the hand with cash in it.

When they click on either of these 2 buttons they will see 4 options:

  • Sell Item = This is treated as a BUY when it comes to Bravo.
  • Pawn Item = This is treated as a PAWN when it comes to Bravo.
  • My Items = What the customer already has listed that they wish to Pawn/Buy.
  • Cancel = Go back to previous screen.

The customer will not be able to post an item without first taking at least 1 picture.

If the customer already has a picture they want to use for their current item they can just pick from the list, otherwise they will need to click on the camera icon on the top left (which is where the phone camera is currently pointing).

Now the customer will take a picture with their phone as normal.

Once they take a picture they will have 2 options available to them:

  • Retake (bottom left)
    • Remove current image and capture another one instead.
  • Use Photo (bottom right)
    • Use the currently taken photo as one of the pictures.

Now, they will be back to the picture option screen. The picture they just took will be highlighted in green and have the number “1” next to it, to indicate the first picture.

They can now choose to:

  • Take another picture.
  • Select one from the list on their phone.
  • Or click Next on the top right to begin the details of the item.

If they click Next they will be taken to the New Item screen. Once here, the customer will need to add some basic information about the item. And, if they choose to, go back to the picture taking screen.

    • What is the item that you are attempting to sell? If possible make/model.
  • Price
    • What the customer wants to get for their item.
  • Category
    • What is the category of the item?
      • Jewelry
      • Watch
      • Manufactured Goods
  • ZIP / Postal Code
    • Where the customer is currently at or wants to sell the item at. (Best used if you have multiple stores.)
  • Description
    • Brief description of the item. Usually what the customer wants to say about the item.

Once the customer lists the item, they will be taken to the My Items screen, where they can view this item and any others they have posted in the past.

On each of these items, the customer has the ability to do 3 things with them by hitting the 3 dots on the far right of each item  :

File (6)
  • Mark as unavailable
    • Customer wants to keep this listing, but not Pawn/Sell it at this moment. (Possibly they are leaving the city/state and can’t get the item to the store.)
  • Delete Item
    • Customer no longer wants to have the item posted at all.
  • Edit Item Details
    • Customer wants to adjust anything and everything that they have done to that item up to this point. (Photos, Price, Category, Description, ZIP / Postal Code.)
  • Renew (2 days)
    • When a listing approval has expired,  renew the request by reposting it to the store. This action resubmits the listing as if it were newly created, giving it a fresh start in the approval process.

You as the store, have seen the item and sent a message to the customer about something or other.

NOTE: If the customer has phone notifications turned off for their MobilePawn app, they will not see the message until they open the MobilePawn app.

If they click on that Chat bubble that they see it will open up the entire message like an Instant Message between the store employee that sent this message and the customer.

The customer can then message the shop with whatever they want by clicking on the Type your message here… and constructing their message.

Once your shop accepts or rejects the item the customer will get an automatic message sent to them.

Now that the item has been Accepted by your store it, the customer will no longer be able to Edit Item Details, but WILL still have the ability to Mark as unavailable and Delete Item if they really choose to as they have only entered a verbal agreement and not an actual contract.

Now that you have Accepted the item, the customer must come in to the store for this item to be treated as a legitimate Pawn/Buy in the store.

The customer will need to have the Order Number that will be on their MobilePawn app.

To have the customer bring this up, they will need to look at the item from My Items and scroll all the way down to the bottom.

Your employee will then either scan with a barcode scanner, or type in the Order Number from their phone into the Smart Search Bar on the Dashboard.

Whether you as the store requires their phone to be with them to see the legitimate Order Number, or they just have the order number written down is completely up to you.
