Installing and using a VPN
Learn how to install and use a VPN to securely connect to Bravo when working remotely or accessing your network offsite.
The purpose of this article is to assist with using a VPN service to select where your internet is being routed in order to improve network performance.
Setting up a VPN on your network may help with internet communication issues you may be experiencing. For a VPN service, we recommend Private Internet Access! With Private Internet Access you can have up to 10 devices registered with a single account. For more devices you will need to sign up with another account to get an additional 10 devices. To get started with a VPN, navigate to https://www.private and click on “Get Started Now”.

Select the time frame for which you would like to purchase the VPN service, you can choose Monthly, 6 Months, or Yearly:

Select your payment method, your options are PayPal, Credit Card, or Amazon Pay:

Select your operating system and download version:

On the next page your download will begin, once it is completed simply click on the file in the bottom left hand corner of your web browser. Alternatively, you can find this file in your “Downloads” folder:

Once the installer finishes click on “Log In” and type in the Username and Password that you received in your email from Private Internet Access:

Click on “VPN SERVER” to see a list of the available VPN servers to choose from, you are going to want to pick a server with a relatively low latency. This can be identified with a color coding system:
- Green – Great
- Yellow – Moderate
- Red – Poor


Once you’ve selected a server with relatively low latency, click on the large power button icon to boot up your VPN service!

Your VPN service is now up and running! To turn off your VPN service simply click on the power button icon again!
