Modify Time Clock Entries
You will learn how to modify employee time clock entries in Bravo, including editing clock-in/out times and correcting missed punches.
On occasion you might need to make changes to your time clock entries. For example, maybe you forgot to clock out one night and when you go to clock in the next time, the Time Clock In/Out field will read Out instead of In. If you have the proper security settings, you can edit the entry yourself or a manager must make the edit.
These directions assume that the Time Clock – Clock In/Out dialog box is active and you are ready to modify the time clock entry. Follow these directions to modify a time clock entry:
- From the Time Clock – Clock In/Out dialog box, click Edit Entries. The Edit Time Clock Entries dialog box appears.

- From the Edit Time Clock Entries dialog box Employee field, type the employee’s name.
- In the Start Date field, select the start date you need.
NOTE: Click All Employees to review the information for all employees. Bravo displays entries for three months from the Start Date.
- Click in the cell for the entry you want to change. The cell is editable.
- Make all changes required.
- Click Save. Your changes are saved and the dialog box closes.
Edit Time Clock Entries Columns
The Edit Time Clock Entries dialog box has several columns that display information about each time entry.
- Type – Identifies the clock type. The clock type is used to help accounting apply the appropriate information during payroll accounting. Clock type options are:
- Regular
- Overtime
- Sick
- Vacation
- Holiday
- Commission
- Bonus
Each entry type is used for a combination of hours, commission, and bonuses.
- In Date/In Time – Time the employee clocked in for work. Must be after or equal to the Out Date/Out Time of the last time stamped entry.
- Out Date/Out Time – Time the employee clocked out of work. Must be after or equal to the In Date/In Time.
- Hours – Number of hours between the In Date/In Time and the Out Date/Out Time. If you edit the Hours field, the system changes the Out Date/Out Time to the In Date/In Time plus the number of hours entered. Hours are expressed as a decimal. For example, 0.5 hours is equivalent to thirty minutes.
- Comm/Bonus – Specify a dollar amount for commission and bonuses. This information is tracked separately from the number of hours worked, but associated with the same clock type.
- Store – For multi-store companies, select the store where the employee works.
