Network and Firewall Settings

Learn how to configure your network and firewall settings to ensure Bravo functions securely and without interruption.

Recommended Network & Firewall Settings for Tested Models

Remember, before choosing network hardware, ensure that your ISP provides a minimum internet connection speed (bandwidth) of 1.5Mbs up and 1.5Mbs down.  Preferred speeds are 4Mbs or better.

Settings: Utilizing Bravo will require you to disable the IPS function. Log on to your router and go to IPS tab and check the Disable IPS function as seen in the screen shot provided below. Click save settings and reboot your router.

Manufacture: SONICWALL
Model: TZ Series 100/200/210
Firmware: current as of June 2011 or later

Settings: Bravo must be assigned a static IP address; this will be assigned to you from your Internet Service Provider. Utilizing Bravo will require you to add exclusions to IPS functions if you utilize IPS.

The following is general to most models of SONICWALL. Please read your manual before doing any of the steps listed below. Bravo Store Systems is not responsible for any issues that arise from improper changes to your firewall settings. You may or may not have all of the features listed below depending on the licensing that was purchased from SONICWALL.

If you have Enabling Premium Content Filtering Service:

  1. Select the Security Services > Content Filter page in the SonicWALL management interface.
  2. Select the LAN checkbox to apply the filter to all computers on your LAN interface.
  3. Click Configure, select the categories to block in the URL List tab, and click OK.
  4. Click in the top-right corner of the page.
  5. In order to install Bravo fully you will need add to the exclusion list the Bravo installation url =http://216.115.69.11/bravoinstall and also http://69.194.135.200/bravoinstall

Enabling Network Anti-Virus Service

  1. Select the Security Services > Network Anti-Virus page in the SonicWALL Management interface.
  2. Select the Enable Anti-Virus checkbox.
  3. Click in the top-right corner of the page.
    Users on your network will be prompted to download the SonicWALL Anti-Virus client.
  4. In order to install Bravo fully you will need add to the exclusion list the Bravo installation url =http://216.115.69.11/bravoinstall and also  http://69.194.135.200/bravoinstall

Enabling Intrusion Prevention Service

  1. Select the Security Services > Intrusion Prevention page in the SonicWALL management interface.
  2. In the IPS Global Settings section, click the Enable IPS on Interface checkbox, and check the WAN and LAN interface check boxes.
  3. In the Signature Groups table, select Prevent All for High Priority attacks.
  4. Click in the top-right corner of the page.
  5. In order to install Bravo fully you will need add to the exclusion list the Bravo installation url =http://216.115.69.11/bravoinstall and also http://69.194.135.200/bravoinstall
    After adding Bravo installation URL to the appropriate areas reboot your router for full settings to take effect.
