Pawn Activity Summary

You will learn how to run the Pawn Activity Summary in Bravo to review loan performance, including new loans, redemptions, forfeitures, and renewals by date range.

The Pawn Activity Summary report allows for per item visibility into your loan base, rolled up by category and then by transaction type. These are the same principal loan amounts as reported in the EOD and EOM spreadsheet reports (without interest and fees). The grand total at the end of the report of the Amount Outstanding will show the loan base for the store for the date range selected.

To access the Pawn Activity Summary, start by clicking Reports from the Bravo Dashboard.

From the Reports screen, select Pawn Activity Summary from the list of Loan Reports

Click Preview.

You will now see the Pawn Activity Summary Report Configuration window.

Reading the Report

The Pawn Activity Summary shows changes to the Loan Base as viewed by category.

The top section of the report breaks down Jewelry into its sub-categories.  The second section breaks down General Merchandise.

  • Loans and Payments = New Loan Principal + Renewal Principal - Principal Payments
  • Buys = Buy Amount + Bought Loan Amount (Buy Ticket action)
  • Renewals = Renewal Principal
  • Redemptions = Redemption Principal + Bought Loans
  • Expirations = Expired Loans - Reactivated Loans - Police Confiscation
  • Period Variance = (New Loan Principal + Renewed Loan Principal) - (Redemption Amount + Expiration)
  • Outstanding = Ending Loan Balance for the range

The Grand Total at the bottom of the report should match to the store's Loan Base.

If the store has not opened and closed correctly, these numbers will not tie to the Loan Base Report.

There is a section of Interest and Fees located at the bottom of the report.

This table shows the total interest and fees collected during the reporting range only.

Within the report, there are columns that show %.

These columns refer to the overall percentage of category items that fall within a specific status.

For example, of all Renewals done in my store, 20% were renewals on Rings, 20% were renewals done on Electronics, 60% were renewals done on firearms.  This is is 100% of my renewals.

The % does note refer to a renewal rate, redemption rate or forfeiture rate.

The Period Variance column shows the difference between New Loans, minus the sum of Redemptions and Expirations.

The Period variance represents the overall change to the loan base report from the start of the reporting range to the end.

Important differences of the Pawn Activity Summary report from the EOD and EOM Spreadsheet:

Loans and Payments includes renewal principal amount. A renewal shows up in both the Renewal column and Loans/Extensions column. If the renewal principal amount is subtracted from the Loans and Extensions amount, the remaining amount matches the EOM and EOD for Loans.

A buy ticket shows in the both Redemptions column and Buy column.

This varies from the EOD and EOM reports because of the way the Pawn Activity report is laid out. It reflects changes to loan base rather than changes to cash on hand.

In order to balance the Pawn Activity Summary against the EOM and EOD, these all are the same number:

  • On the EOD report, add up Loans + Buys + Renewal Principal Payments + Redeem
  • On the EOM report, add up Loans Redeemed + Loans + Buys
  • On the Pawn Activity Summary, add up Renewals + Redemptions - Loans - Buys
