Learn how to configure your printer settings in Bravo to ensure labels, receipts, and tickets print correctly on supported devices.

Printer Setup Overview:

  • Ensure all cables are securely connected.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions for powering the printer on and off.
  • Familiarize yourself with your printer's make and model for specific troubleshooting steps.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Step 1: Cable Check

  • Ensure all cables are firmly connected to the printer.
  • Check power cables and data cables for any signs of damage.

Step 2: Power Cycle

  • Power down the printer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Wait for a few seconds before powering the printer back on.

Step 3: Run Self-Test

  • Refer to the manufacturer’s documentation for instructions on running a self-test.
  • Verify if the printer test page prints successfully.

Step 4: Ping Test

  • On a Windows computer, open Command Prompt by typing "CMD" in the search bar and pressing Enter.
  • Type "Ping [enter IP address of printer]" and press Enter.
  • A successful ping test indicates connectivity. If unsuccessful, contact your System Administrator.

Step 5: Printer Status Check

  • Open Windows Devices and Printers.
  • Ensure the printer is listed and shows as online. If not, troubleshoot connectivity or contact support.

Step 6: Print Test Page

  • Right-click on the printer icon and select "Print Test Page."
  • If using a label printer, ensure label advancement indicates proper functionality.
  • If no test page prints, contact your System Administrator.

Step 7: Port Verification

  • Check if the printer is connected to the correct port, especially for network printers.
  • Ensure network printers have the correct IP address.

Step 8: Printer Reinstallation

  • If previous steps fail, consider deleting the current printer and adding it again.
  • Reboot the computer before adding the printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to add the printer correctly.

Zebra TLP 2824 Troubleshooting (ZPL):

Issue: Labels Misalignment

  • Perform a soft calibration via Printing Preferences > Tools > Calibrate Media.
  • For physical calibration, hold the feed button until a series of flashes occurs.

Issue: Printer Not Obtaining IP Address

  • Hold down the feed button to enter Factory Default mode.
  • Follow instructions for resetting network settings using the RESET button.

Additional Printer Troubleshooting:

  • Solid Red Light: Power off the printer for 30 seconds, reload labels, and close the lid.
  • Double Green Flash: Press the feed button to resume printing.
  • Alternating Green and Red Flashes: Contact Zebra Support.
  • Alternating Red, Orange, or Green Flashes: Allow the printer to complete defragmentation.

Common Label Printing Issues:

  • Blank Label: Ensure the correct label type is used.
  • Half-Printed Label: Contact Zebra Support and check for obstructions in the printer.
