An example of a printer online is bellow, if printer is online continue to step 7.If the printer is online, then print a Windows test page. How to find your windows test page:

Right click on the printer

Click on the Print Test Page button. This will produce a Windows test page. If this is a label printer you may or may not see anything, but if the Label advances then the printer is working and connected properly. If no test page prints, contact system administrator.

Now If all else fails you can look at the ports and make sure that the ports are correct. If It is a network Printer Make sure that you can see that it is going to the correct IP address of the printer. If it is not a network printer then make sure that it is connected to the correct port. Usually that would be the USB ports. There are a couple of different possible scenarios in various stores, but the two standard scenarios will either be a network printer or a USB printer.

If checking the ports comes back null then you could always try to delete the current printer, reboot the computer and then adding in a new printer. You can add a printer by clicking on the ADD A PRINTER button from the windows devices and printers window.

If it's a network printer then make sure you have the IP Address of the printer.

If it is a Local Printer Make sure that the printer is plugged into the computer and not into a USB HUB.

Remember that this is a hardware issue if you do not feel confident enough to add a printer, then DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ADD ONE. We recommend contacting a system administrator if you do not feel that you are qualified to do so. If you NEED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO ADD A PRINTER THEN CLICK HERE!
