Reactivate a Layaway

Learn how to reactivate an expired layaway in Bravo with step-by-step instructions.

In some instances, a customer may want to reactivate a Layaway that has already expired and had been added to the store's inventory. This article will walk you through Reactivating a Layaway.

The employee working on reacting a Layaway must have the proper permissions and to work on this. Please, contact Support to get this done if needed.

Instructions

The layaway will be eligible for reactivation if the following conditions are all met:

        1. All layaway items are still available in the store.
        2. All layaway credit from the expiration is unused.
  • Enter the Layaway ticket number in Smart Search.

If dealing with a converted Layaway ticket, change the search method to Search By > Layaway Number.

  • An Information window pops up, "Layaway number found but is not active."
  • Click Ok
  • Select Reactivate Layaway from he right panel.
  • The Reactivate Layaway window appears.
  • Select Payment to reactivate the Layaway and make a payment.
  • The Layaway Payment Detail dialog will appear.
  • Select Undo Expiration to reactivate the Layaway without requiring a payment.
  • The layaway reactivation will be added directly to the transaction.
  • Select Next to proceed.

You may get an Exception screen for a Manager's Approval.

    • Get the approval and continue.

    • At the Tender Screen, complete the transaction.

Possible issues during layaway reactivation

NOTE: you will not be able to reactivate the Layaway under either one of the conditions below:

  1. If the customer’s credit from Layaway transaction has been already used in other transaction or expired.
  2. If one or more items inside a Layaway transaction had cost adjustments made or were split.
  3. If not all items from Layaway transaction are in the store inventory (e.g. have been sold)
  4. For Layaway transactions, containing non-serialized SKU items, if one or more SKU items in the Layaway transaction has insufficient cost or quantity to reactivate
  5. If one or more items in a Layaway transaction had been moved to another store
