Recategorize Items
Learn how to recategorize items in Bravo to correct category errors and improve inventory organization.
Last Updated: 3/28/2025
After a data conversion, many inventory items lack an Estimator model, often being labeled as Miscellaneous Manufactured Goods or Miscellaneous Jewelry.
To optimize your inventory, it's ideal to run each item through the Estimator. However, we recognize that this process can be time-consuming.
As a temporary solution, Bravo enables bulk re-categorization of inventory items not linked to Estimator models..
You cannot re-categorize items in any status other than INVENTORY
Instructions
- Start by running an Ad Hoc Report for Inventory Management.
- From the Dashboard, select Inventory and then Ad Hoc Reporting.
- Select items and click Recategorize Items in the right panel.
- This option is available only to employees with the "Re-categorize Items in Bulk" permission.

The Recategorize Items screen will populate with your selected inventory, but will remove the following:
- Items that are not normally editable via the Edit button in Inventory Management
- Items tracked in the ATF A&D Book
- Items already associated with an Estimator model
If any of these types of items are removed, you will be informed via a notification dialog.

- If no items remain after removing items that cannot be re-categorized in bulk, a notification will appear and the system will switch back to Inventory Management.

- In the Recategorize Items screen, Bravo checks the converted manufacturer and model names against the Estimator database.
- Items that match an Estimator model will be highlighted in yellow, and a summary notification will be provided.
- You can verify or change the matched manufacturer and model through the Estimator.
- If an item lacks a Manufacturer or Model, you cannot access the Estimator.
- Please contact Bravo Support at (888) 407-6287 for help.
- For other items, select one or more, choose a category from the left panel, and click Update.
- Changes will be highlighted in yellow.
- To undo a change, select the item(s), right-click, and choose Cancel Changes.
- Remember, changes won't be saved until you click the Save button in the upper-right corner.
