Receive Inventory

Learn how to receive SKUs, general merchandise, and jewelry into Bravo inventory using the updated Receive Inventory screen.

Last Updated: 7/30/2025

This article explains the Receivings feature of Stock Management in Bravo, which functions like a Purchase Order but skips the ordering steps.

It's mainly used for receiving inventory ordered outside of Bravo directly into store inventory without tracking the order process.

Receivings combine the following Bravo functionalities:

  • Add General Merchandise
  • Add Jewelry
  • Add to SKU

This enhances user experience and provides a complete inventory history.

Security Configuration

Employees must have the necessary security permissions to use the Receivings feature in Bravo.

Here are the security details and action options for Receivings:

Main Menu > Inventory > Receive Inventory

  • Allowed: Receivings tab is displayed, the employee can manage Receivings
  • Not Allowed: Receivings tab is not displayed on Stock Management screen

Instructions

  • From the Dashboard, select Inventory and then Stock Management from the side menu.
  • Select the Receivings tab on the Stock Management screen.
  • The left panel displays the information about selected Receiving, similar to the left panel on the Purchase Orders tab.
  • To create a new Receiving, click the Add Receiving button on the right panel.

You can filter existing Receivings by status:

  • Received: This filter is selected by default.
    • To edit an existing Receiving, select it in the grid and select Edit Receiving.

    • Please note that only Receivings with Received status can be edited.

  • Completed

Batch Loading

  • Batch loading is now available in Stock Management for all tabs. The first 50 items are shown initially, with more loaded in batches of 50 when you click the Show More button. Items are sorted by the most recent Status Date at the top.

Receiving Screen

  • Depending on the store configuration, the Receiving screen may include the following tabs:

Stock Inventory Tab

The Stock Inventory Tab allows you to add inventory items using Stock SKUs. After you create a SKU, you can simply update the quantity as needed, which keeps reordering straightforward.

You can add SKU's by using Integrated Vendor Catalogs or Creating your own stock SKU's

Left Side Panel

  • The number next to the Stock Inventory tab shows the count of SKUs in the grid.
  • The layout is similar to the Purchase Order screen, with specific fields below the item grid.
Field Description
Stock Inv Qty Total quantity of all items inside Stock Inventory tab
Stock Inv Cost Total cost of all items inside Stock Inventory tab
Item Inv Qty Total quantity of items inside Item Inventory tab
Item Inv Cost Total cost of all items inside Item Inventory tab
Sub-Total Qty Total of Stock Inv Qty + Item Inv Qty
Sub-Total Cost Total of Stock Inv Cost + Item Inv Cost

Item Inventory Tab

The Item Inventory Tab lets you add items to your inventory even if you don’t have Stock SKU's in your product line up. Each item entered here is assigned a unique inventory number.

General Merchandise

  • Click Add General Merchandise from the right panel.
  • In the lower left corner of the receiving screen, select Edit Item.
  • Enter the Manufacturer and choose the correct option from the list.
  • Enter the Model and select the appropriate match.
  • Fill in the Serial Number and Location.
  • Add the item’s MSRP and set the sale price.
  • Click Next
  • On the left side menu, input the cost for the item.
  • If you’re adding multiples, use the Copy Item button at the bottom of the screen.

If you’re receiving firearms, all required fields in the Estimator or Edit Item must be completed. Missing information in these fields will prevent you from saving the entry.

Jewelry

  • Click Add Jewelry from the right panel.
  • In the lower left corner of the receiving screen, select Estimator.
  • Enter the weight, gold purity, and gold color for the item.
  • Select the appropriate category.
  • Use the available tabs to add any optional details about the piece.
  • Enter the MSRP and selling price, then click Next.
  • Go to the left side panel to set the sales floor location and input the item cost.
  • If you’re adding more than one, the Copy Item button at the bottom of the screen makes it easy to create duplicates.

Edit Item Vs Estimator

  • The Edit Item option will allow you to add General Merchandise items into inventory without having to answer the quality assessment questions
  • The Edit Item option requires you to enter the Manufacturer and Model separately.
  • The Estimator option will allow you to search for the Manufacture and Model simultaneously

While you can technically enter items using the left side menu, this approach is far from ideal and should be avoided whenever possible.

  • For firearms, this method simply won’t work—you’ll miss mandatory fields like Caliber, Action, and Importer, which are absolutely required for compliance and inventory accuracy.
  • When it comes to jewelry, taking this shortcut means you’d need to manually enter details like weight, gold purity, and color if you plan to scrap the item later; skipping this step could cause real headaches down the road.
Bottom line: use recommended processes to ensure you’re capturing all critical information.
