Return an Item from a Cash Customer (With Receipt)

Learn how to return an item for a cash customer using a receipt and issue a refund in Bravo.

This article will walk you through the process to return an item from a cash customer who has a receipt.

If the item is being returned by a customer other than a cash customer, follow the process here.

If the customer does not have their receipt, follow the process here .

Note:  If a cash customer is wanting to return a SKU item, they must have a receipt.  A return in Bravo will not be possible without one.

Instructions

  • Start by scanning the receipt into the Smart Search from the Bravo Dashboard:
  • You will see the Sales Receipt Detail View of the Transactions window.  
  • Click on the Item and then select Return on the right.
  • An Information window appears stating, "This item was originally sold to FAST SALE. Before the return can be accepted, the customer that is returning the item must be selected."

Although items are sold to cash customers, Bravo requires a customer to be selected for a return.

  • Click OK and then click the customer Search button to find the customer.

If the customer is not on the list, click Add New Customer and proceed to add the customer.

  • Once you the customer is selected, click Return again from the right to see the Return Detail window:
  • Select the Reason  and then enter any Notes that will print on the receipt.
  • Click OK.
  • The Transactions window now displays information about the return, the customer and the Note that was entered.
  • Click Next.
  • Refunds require a manager approval.
  • Get the approval and go to the Tender Screen.
  • The Refund Payment Methods Detail window appears. 
  • Select the refund payment type.
  • Click Ok, and then Save.

Note: If you are refunding a customer with store credit, select Convert to Gift Card and follow the process to issue a Gift Card in Bravo.

  • Bravo will print a receipt and a label for the returned item.
