Secure your sales discounts by prioritizing discount security exceptions. Trigger the first encountered exception: either Store discount percentage or Item discount percentage.
Item priority checks the item discount first and raises an exception if the discount threshold is exceeded. It will use the Store percentage if the item discount is 100%.
Instructions
Check the Store Setup
- From the Dashboard, select System Configuration -> POS Config -> Sales discount exception method. Default configuration is First Threshold Crossed.
- To change the exception method, click the Edit button.
- Make the change and click Save.
- There is a security entry that would need to be updated at the store Level and this can only be done by Support.
- The security bit for discounting an item is found in the Main Menu -> Transactions -> Point of Sale -> Override Maximum Sale Discount %
In order to get the most out of the checks and balances the security options and exceptions provide, it is best practice to require employees be permitted to approve exceptions themselves.
- This configuration is located in System Configuration -> ASSOCIATE CONFIG -> Require employees to approve their own exception. Checkbox to enable employees approve their own exceptions.
