Sell a Consignment Item

Learn how to sell consignment items in Bravo, from selecting the item in inventory to completing the transaction.

Last Updated: 2/25/2025

Consignment items in your store can be scanned and behave like all other inventory items.  There are just a couple of things to keep in mind as these items come up to sell. This article will go over Selling an item on Consignment.

Instructions

  • From the Dashboard, start by scanning the inventory label into the Smart Search field.
  • In the Transactions screen, click on the Detail button to verify the Consignment information
  • Notice that under the item details, you can see that this item is on Consignment.  The Minimum Selling Price is also listed.
  • Click Next to process the transaction.
  • If you click the Edit button on the sale line it will bring up the Sale Detail window.

IMPORTANT: The Selling Price in the Sale Detail window equals the Minimum Selling Price. This price is non-negotiable for Consignment items. Associates or managers can sell items below the Minimum Selling Price, potentially reducing the payout to the consignor.

  • Complete the Sale like normal.

Things to Know

After an item is sold, the payment hold period starts. This can be configured in System Configuration>Consignments>Payment Hold Period. You can set it from 0 for immediate payout to the consignor, or choose a duration that suits your store. This period determines when you notify the consignor about their successful sale.

Note:   We recommend setting the Hold Period to be at least the same length of time as your store's standard Return Period to anticipate the item being returned from the buyer for a refund.
