Setting up a Dual Tray Printer
Learn how to set up a dual-tray printer in Bravo to ensure different document types print from the correct tray automatically.
Setting Up a Dual Tray Printer
- Acquire the IP Address of your Network Printer.
You can do this by printing a network status page.
- Navigate to the "Control Panel" in Windows.
- Click on "Devices and Printers".
- Click "Add New Printer" from the top right corner.
- A window will open, select “Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer"
- Windows will begin to search your network for the printer. You should be able to find your printer in the list, and verify that that is your printer by comparing the IP Address.
- If Windows does not detect the printer, and you know that the printer is getting a valid IP Address then click the button below that says “The printer I want isn’t listed”
- On the next screen select the “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname” radial button and click "NEXT"
- The next screen will then have you enter in the IP Address and the Port name. and click "NEXT"
- Enter the IP Address, and name the port the same name as the printer. (i.e. Reports)
- On the next screen you will need to select the manufacturer of the printer and then the model of your printer. After you locate the driver for your printer click "NEXT"
- If you cannot find your printer then visit your manufacturer’s website and download the driver.
- You can also use the any digital media (CD) that came with you printer and install the software that it came with. You can also browse the media for the driver files.
- If the printer did not come with any software or drivers, then you will need to visit the manufacturer’s support website to download the drivers.
- You will then be prompted to set the printer as a default printer or to share the printer. If you want this printer to be your default then check the default check box.
Make sure that the SHARE PRINTER CHECK BOX IS NOT CHECKED. DO NOT SHARE YOUR PRINTERS OVER WINDOWS.
If you share your printers in Windows you will not be able to get Bravo to print to that printer.
- Click "Finish", and the printer is installed.
- Find the printer in the "Devices and Printers" list. Right click on the printer and select "Printer Properties"
- On the "General Tab" rename the printer to either “PawnTickets” or “Reports” and click "APPLY"
- Click on the "Device Settings" tab inside of the "Printer Properties"
- Some printers may not have this configuration available due to the manufacturer and the driver used.
- In the "Device Settings" tab under the “FORM TO TRAY ASSIGNMENT” section you will find your tray setting.
- Identify which tray will be used. Then on the trays that will not be used click on the drop down and select “NOT AVAIABLE”. This will disable the trays that you are not using on that printer installation.
- Click "Apply" and "OK"
- Right click on the printer again, and select "Printing Preferences"
- On the PAPER/QUALITY" tab find the "Paper Options"
- There will be a setting titled “Source Is” click the drop down option below and select the tray that you will be using for this printer installation.
- Click "OK"
- Repeat steps 4-15 for the second installation, tailoring the install for the other source trays for your paper and naming the printer the opposite name of the first printer installation. (PawnTickets or Reports)
