Settle Fortis Batch
Learn how to settle Fortis batches in Bravo by reviewing, verifying, and closing daily payment batches through the integrated POS system.
This feature gives you the option to settle your Fortis payment terminal(s) before their automated nightly settlement time. You can settle the terminals one at a time or select multiple terminals to settle. Additionally, you can choose to settle the online Fortis payment processor for Buya and UsedGuns.
How to get it:
Your store must be configured to use Fortis credit card processing for this feature to be enabled. If you are using Fortis and you still cannot find this feature, contact Bravo support at 888-407-6287.
Concerns & Considerations:
This feature should only be enabled for managers and not all employees. Settling a terminal in the middle of the day could interrupt transaction processing. The settlement process will make the terminal unable to process credit card transactions until the settlement process has completed. Settlement in the middle of the day could also cause accounting headaches if the accountant is not prepared for a settlement to happen.
Security Bit:
The security bit for this feature is located (Main Menu -> Close Till -> Settle Fortis Batch)
Best Use and Steps:
This feature was not intended for a store to use daily. If you find the need to settle your Fortis terminal(s) before their scheduled nightly settlement time, please contact Fortis to change the settlement time of your terminals to happen earlier.

Settle Fortis Batch process examples:
Settle a single terminal:
You can settle a single terminal. Just select the terminal, then select the Settle Batch button on the right menu.
Settlement Report:
Settle multiple:
Using Multi-Select, you can hold down the control key and select multiple terminals/processors, then select Settle Batch. Each terminal will be settled one at a time. Settlement summary of the terminals selected will be shown at the end. The online processor will be scheduled to settle and will settle on the next 30-minute mark.
Settle the online payment processor:
Settling the online payment processor is not immediate. The online processor is for things such as online orders and payments. Selecting to settle the online processor submits a request to settle as it does not settle immediately. Settlement happens automatically on Fortis’s server and can only happen on the hour or 30 minutes past the hour after a settlement request has been made.
After a settlement request was made to settle terminals and the online processor. Looking again at the Settle Fortis Batch, you will see only the online processor remains. On the next 30 minute mark, the online processor will show zero again.
