Most Common Issues
The Star thermal printer feeds paper but does not print. The cause could be that the paper is not thermal-coated or it was loaded upside down. To verify that the roll is thermal-coated, scratch the surface of the paper with a coin or nail. If the top coat shows a gray mark where the scratch was made, the paper is thermal-coated. Next, verify the thermal paper was loaded correctly and try printing again.

How do I read the "Error Status or LED Codes" for my Star Micronics Printer?
If a printer is malfunctioning, the LED indicators located on the operation or control panel will report the printer error condition. Each LED pattern indicates a specific condition error. For cross reference between LED indications and errors on your printer, refer to user's manual of the product in use. User manuals are included with all Star Micronics printers. If your printer shipped with an installation CD, it can be found electronically on the CD. User manuals are also available for free to download at: Star Global Support Site
