Third Party Transactions/FFL Transfers
Learn how to process third-party transactions in Bravo, including FFL transfers where a customer purchases a firearm and it must be shipped to an external FFL dealer for pickup.
When there are two customers (OR a customer and the FFL holder assisting them with a transfer), the primary customer is the customer on the top left and the second customer (or FFL holder) is on the bottom left. The second customer is considered the “third party” doing the transaction on behalf of the primary customer.

To do a third-party transaction, after the primary customer (or final recipient of the firearm to be transferred) is selected, click the 3rd Party Transaction button in the customer view on the bottom left of the transaction screen. This will bring up the usual find customer fields to select the third-party. To remove the third-party customer, click the red “x” above the 3rd party section (on the left side of the third party heading).
A Customer Profile will need to be created. A vendor cannot be used for a 3rd Party Transaction.
There are two primary cases where customers may be doing transactions on behalf of another customer:
- Firearm sales/redemptions where the gun is shipped to an FFL in another city where it will be released to the actual customer.
- Doing this will have the A&D Book show the Disposed To as the FFL, but in the sales reports it will show as selling to the customer.
- Loan transactions where the customer paying on the loan or redeeming the loan is not the actual customer. Usually in the case of a relative helping out the individual or the original customer is deceased or incarcerated.
In the case of firearm sales or firearm loan redemptions only, the ATF gun book is updated based on the 3rd party, not the primary customer in the transaction. A loan or buy transaction will still use the original primary customer.
Although these are the two primary cases for third-party transactions, we have left the use open to any other cases as they come up. Its use is not restricted to any particular transaction type.
The “Contact History” and “Customer Knowledge” still remain at the bottom of the pane and only apply to the primary customer.
In Void/View Transactions, the third party-customer is visible along with the original customer, same as it appears above on the transaction screen.
Receipt for Third Party Transactions
The receipt for a third party transaction print the 3rd party customer on the top of the receipt as doing the transaction “on behalf of” the primary customer, see below:

Packing Slip for Third Party Transaction
**New with 3.1.3**
When a third party transaction involves shipping of a firearm to an FFL, then a firearm packing slip is printed in addition to the receipt. A packing slip contains contact information of your store, the primary customer, and all the pertinent firearms details. This is provided to assist the receiving FFL in recording all necessary acquisition information in their ATF A&D Book
