Transfer Pickup
Learn how to complete a firearm Transfer Pickup in Bravo.
After a transfer is created, the transfer pickup can begin by doing one of the following:
- Search for the Transfer Number on the Dashboard or the Transactions screen and select "Transfer Pick Up" on the right panel of the Transactions screen.
- Select the Buyer/Transferee customer, select "Transfer Pick Up" on the right panel of the Transactions screen, then select the transfer(s) from the "Active Transfers" dialog and click "Ok".
In almost all cases, the Buyer/Transferee will not have an FFL, so a HOLD TRANSFER will be added to the transaction for each transfer. If your store is configured to auto-add a Firearm Fee, the default Firearm Fee will also be added to the transaction.
Select "Next", then collect outstanding payment on the Tender Screen and save the transaction. After the transaction is saved, the E4473 Start screen will appear, and you will proceed with the E4473 as you would with any other firearm disposition, like a sale or layaway hold.
Scan Item Verification for Transfer Items in Store Possession
If you have Scan Item Verification enabled for All Items under System Configuration > POS Config, you will be prompted to scan the in-store transfer item(s) at the end of the E4473 process, when the transfer is completed.
Prohibited Transfer Pick Up Scenarios
You may receive a Warning when proceeding from the Transactions screen to the Tender Screen. These warnings are meant to prevent issues with E4473 form processing and associated NICS checks for these E4473s. Here are some examples of the messages you may encounter:
Delayed NICS Response for Private Party Transfers
If a Private Party Transfer has not been left in the store, and the NICS check for that transfer's Buyer/Transferee is delayed, Bravo will ask again whether the Seller/Transferee will be leaving the item in the store. If the item is left in store's possession when the NICS response is delayed, location of the transfer must be selected before saving.
It is important to note that firearms involved in private party transfers will typically only appear in the ATF A&D Book after the item is transferred to the Buyer/Transferee. An acquisition from the Seller/Transferor and a disposition to the Buyer/Transferee will be recorded at this time, to indicate the brief moment when the store took possession of the item and then released it to the Buyer/Transferee.
The only other time when the item is shown in the A&D Book would be if the Seller/Transferor leaves the item(s) in the store prior to the completion of the transfer. For more information about this process, see Private Party Transfer - Items Left in Store.
