Workstation Configuration
This guide will take you step by step through the Bravo workstation configuration features.

How to use the new Stores tab (July 2025)
Navigating to Workstation Settings
The System Configuration screen is displayed by selecting the System Configuration button on the Bravo Dashboard.
Note: This button is only visible if the logged on user has the authority to access these functions.
The System Configuration screen is divided into three panes.

- The left pane contains a hierarchical display of the existing stores, employees and workstations in the company.
- The center pane contains the main work area. There are a number of tabs on the top that change based on what is selected in the navigation pane. Each tab provides a different type of configuration.
- The pane on the right side of the screen contains the button list. This list will change based on the tab that is selected in the main work area.
To access the workstation configuration screen, click on the arrow next to Workstations from the tree in the left pane.

To find the name of the workstation that you are logged into, hover your mouse over the employee's image on the top right of the screen.
The Information Tab
After selecting Edit on the workstation Information tab, the user can then edit the information.
The following information can be edited on the workstation:
Information tab:
- Name – The name of the workstation that Bravo will use to identify it on screens and reports
- Type – This defines the main function of the workstation. Examples of workstation types are Accounting, POP, POS, POS/POP, and ADMIN.
- Status – Defines the current state of the workstation. It can be active, inactive, new, or pending activation.
- Fixed Asset Number – This can be used for asset inventory purposes.
- Note – Free form field to allow information pertaining to the workstation to be entered.
- MAC Address – The address on the network for this workstation. It is needed for the network to be able to access information on the workstation and to allow the workstation to interact with other devices, e.g. printers.
- If the Replace Hardware button is selected, the MAC Address field is cleared. This is useful when a workstation has crashed or is not available, the license for the non-functioning workstation may be freed to be used on a different workstation.
- License Key – Identifies this workstation as a valid Bravo workstation.
- Cash Drawer
- Allow Global Till – If selected, this workstation can have global tills. This allows multiple workstations and/or users to be connected to the same till.
- Prompt to Open Cash Drawer – If checked, the cash drawer will not pop open automatically as soon as the transaction is saved, but instead a prompt will appear for when to pop it. This feature provides the user time to get any necessary documents before opening the till, such as walking across the room to get a receipt.
- Autolock Override
- Disable autolock on this workstation – Check this checkbox to disable both types of automatic locking on the selected workstation. When enabled, this override prevents Bravo from locking the user session due to inactivity (idle autolock) and from returning to the login screen when a user navigates back to or is pushed to the dashboard (dashboard autolock).
The Security Tab
The workstation Security tab allows the user to define which Bravo features can be accessed from this workstation.

The features are divided into several categories. Click Edit to open up these fields. Click Expand All to see every security expanded. Otherwise, click the arrow beside each security category to open individual levels below.
Some Security Settings can be set to or
only. There is no Manager Approval option for Workstation security settings.
Setting one of these categories to "Not Allowed" automatically disables access to all features within the category. This is not easily reversed, as you will have to re-Allow features one by one by expanding the security tree.
Select Save to retain the settings or Cancel to discard the changes.
If the Cancel button is selected, Bravo will require the user to confirm that the changes are to be discarded.

Once the selections are saved, Bravo will only display the features that are allowed for this workstation based on the configuration settings.
Repeat this procedure for all workstation that will be hosting Bravo.
Select the Done button in the button pane on the right side of the screen to return to the main menu.
